Trivia: Originally, when Chief got hit by the train, he was supposed to die, which was supposed to fully justify Copper's revenge at Tod. However, for the same reason as Trusty from Lady and the Tramp (1955), some of the crew had qualms against eliminating a main character, mostly because of the risk of the scene being too intense for children.

Goofs: Continuity: Tod's collar disappears and reappears during the night hunt scene.

Quotes:
[Chief has a busted leg and is whimpering loudly]
Amos Slade: Chief, get back in there before I break your other leg.

I was surprised that "The Fox and the Hound" didn't get a higher rating. This is a movie about true friendship and the power that can hold it together. I'm not trying to be cheesy, yes, it's a cartoon. But it's very touching how much the Fox and the Hound wanted to be friends. From two different worlds, they didn't care. They just wanted to play together.

That's the reason I think I enjoyed this Disney classic so much, because of it's important message. I think that's another reason I went into teaching, because kids never judged each other. They find a good friend and don't care about who they are or why they should fight. The Fox and the Hound are the perfect pair of best friends, not to mention so adorable to look at. This is one of my favorite Disney movies and also has one of my favorite Disney songs "When you're the best of friends". They truly do not make movies like this now a days.
